Expression of Interest
The Expression of Interest Assessment Task is essentially a chance for you to introduce and promote yourself and additionally, concisely explain the business concept and associated online marketing campaign you have in mind and therefore, will focus on for both Assignment One and Assignment Two (the Website Plan and Website Project respectively). You will do this in two ways:

Submit (online to ‘Turnitin’) a one page document containing a brief version of your Curriculum Vitae, focussing on your bio (approx.. 250 words) and a summary of your business concept / associated online marketing campaign (approx. 250 words). A template for this will be provided so just fill in the blanks (don’t go over one page).

Deliver a short (2-minute) presentation communicating the same information in an entertaining, enthusiastic, and professional manner. Essentially this is an initial ‘pitch’ to a potential employer demonstrating (using oral communication techniques) why your idea will be effective and why you are the right person for the job.

The Expression of Interest assessment task is worth 10% of your final marks for this course (5% for the written component and 5% for the oral component). The written component will be assessed on the your ability to get your point across clearly, concisely, and in a compelling, relevant, and well formatted manner (see Expression of Interest Marking Criteria) and the presentation component will be assessed on your ability to do the same using enthusiastic, engaging, clear and concise, well-timed, and well-spoken oral communication techniques (see Expression of Interest Marking Criteria).
Due Date
The Expression of Interest (EOI) assessment task is due in Week 4 of the semester by the end of your normal tutorial. You submit both the written component and deliver the oral presentation before the end of your normal tutorial time slot in Week 4. Feel free to ask your lecturer or tutors anything if any of this seems unclear.

Assignment One Template
This document is your template for the written component associated with Assignment One (the Expression of Interest). You basically just have to fill in the blanks however you have to do this in a manner that demonstrates your ability to communicate your ideas and your personal value effectively and efficiently. Important Note: The written component of this assessment task is to be handed to your tutor during your normal tutorial time slot in week 3 as a printed hard copy and must not exceed one A4 page.
Assignment One Marking Criteria
This document provides a guide to how your first assignment (the Expression of Interest) will be marked. Use this guide as a checklist to ensure you have covered all required aspects of the assignment to a high standard. An assessment of each aspect of the marking criteria will be undertaken during the marking process associated with your assignment. The completed marking criteria (including comments) will be available to you once marks for this assignment are completed and made available in the grade centre.
